Shooting near Dallas food store leaves two bystanders injured

Two people were hospitalized early Friday after being shot near a food store in Dallas.

Officers were called about 1 a.m. to Little World Food Store in the 4600 block of Malcolm X Boulevard on a report of shots fired, police said.

Two groups of suspects were shooting at each other and two victims who were not the intended targets were caught in the crossfire. Both victims were seated in the cars when they were shot.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital, one had non-life threatening injuries while the other had surgery and is in stable condition, police said.

The store was closed temporarily during the investigation.

No suspect information was available.
