A teacher and coach at a Haslet high school was arrested last week after a woman told authorities that he touched her inappropriately in 2011 when she was a 15-year-old Springtown High School student.
Stryker Dan Strickland, 34, has been in jail since his arrest last week in Parker County. Bail is set at $100,000. He faces charges of improper relationship between educator and student, and indecency with a child by sexual contact, the Parker County Sheriff’s Department said.
Investigators interviewed the accuser, now 20, about an incident that occurred five years ago, according to the probable cause affidavit released Tuesday. She told them that she occasionally baby-sat Strickland’s two children, and that on Dec. 15, 2011, while she was baby-sitting, Strickland touched her inappropriately over her clothes. He also tried to remove her clothes, but she resisted and went into a child’s bedroom and held the child until Strickland left the house.
At the time, she was a student at Springtown High School, and Strickland was a history teacher and coach. He worked in the Springtown school district until last year when he got a job in the Northwest school district as a social studies teacher and football and track coach at Eaton High School in Haslet.
In a statement, a Northwest school spokeswoman said Strickland was put on leave after officials learned about the investigation before the school year started.
