Car stolen at gunpoint at Westlake health club

A gunman stole a car from a man leaving a Westlake health club at 2 p.m. Tuesday, police reported.

The man, a Trophy Club resident, was not harmed, Keller police Capt. Mike Wilson said.

The robbery occurred outside The Solana Club, 2902 Sam School Road.

Wilson said police believe the robber burglarized a Southlake home 30 minutes before the carjacking.

Southlake police spokeswoman Kim Leach said officers responding to a call of a burglary in progress chased a man in a car until the driver left the city. She said another department took over at that point.

Wilson said police have a good description of the suspect and a potential person of interest. The description is not being released at this time, Wilson said.

He said he does not know of a connection to a recent string of fitness club burglaries in Southlake, Colleyville, Plano, Highland Village and Flower Mound. — Monica S. Nagy
