Driver killed in crash near DFW Airport

A motorist was killed early Wednesday when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and smashed into a pillar near Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, police said.

Police said they believe the driver was going too fast on a rain-slick highway.

The victim was identified as Allam Amer, 63, of Euless, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

The accident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on westbound Texas 183 near the south airport exit. Amer lost control of his Isuzu, which left the road and rolled several times before hitting the highway pillar, police said.

Amer was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
