Grand Prairie teen arrested in double slaying in Arlington

A Grand Prairie teenager was arrested Tuesday in a double slaying that occurred Saturday during a marijuana deal in east Arlington, police reported.

Isaiah S. Hutchinson, 18, was in the Arlington Jail on Tuesday with bail set at $500,000. He faces a capital murder charge, Arlington police said in a news release.

A 911 call about the shooting was received shortly after 11:45 p.m. Saturday from the Las Lomas Apartments in the 800 block of Timberlake Drive, according to earlier reports.

Police found three people shot. Clinton Howard, 28, whose town of residence has not been reported, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bryan Young, 22, of Grand Prairie died later at an Arlington hospital. A third man, Corey Wilson, was badly wounded, police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said.

Investigators believe that Wilson accompanied Hutchinson into an apartment to buy marijuana while a third man stayed in the parking lot, Richard said.

“Witnesses described seeing Hutchinson shoot Mr. Young and Mr. Howard in the apartment,” Richard said. “When officers arrived moments later, they saw a man later identified as Hutchinson run away from a parked vehicle. Wilson, who was injured, was near that parked vehicle.”

It was unclear Tuesday how Wilson was wounded.

Jail records say Hutchinson was arrested in the 2400 block of Slaton Drive in Grand Prairie which, Richard said, is his residence.
