Police arrest robbery suspect accused of throwing fireworks in Fort Worth bank

Fort Worth police have arrested a man who is accused of throwing fireworks while robbing a Chase Bank on Sept. 4.

A police report identifies the suspect who is in custody as 31-year-old Michael Alexander Patterson, of Keller. He was arrested on Sept. 26 and is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on $50,000 bond, according to jail records.

FBI officials in Dallas said the robber was armed with fireworks and tried to ignite them during the robbery at the bank at 4225 North Tarrant Parkway, in north Fort Worth.

The robber demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount, according to a news release. He also tried, unsuccessfully, to steal car keys from an employee.

The FBI said at the time of the crime he was wearing a dark baseball hat, sunglasses, necktie and a dress shirt.

The FBI asked anyone with information concerning the bank robbery to call 972-559-5000, or to submit tips at tips.fbi.gov.
