Two suspected drug traffickers were arrested after they crashed a vehicle in downtown Fort Worth on Monday while fleeing from Lake Worth police and DEA agents, authorities said.

Members of the Lake Worth police Special Operations Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration first tried to arrest the suspects in the 5900 block of Lake Worth Boulevard, police said in a news release.

The suspects drove through a chain-link fence and led officers on a chase before they crashed near Commerce and East Second street in Fort Worth, police said.

The driver of a vehicle who wasn’t involved in the pursuit sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The two suspects got out of their vehicle and ran until they were caught by officers, according to the release.

Investigators recovered more than two kilograms of cocaine, which is valued at over $118,000, and a gun, police said.

The two 31-year-old men who were arrested are expected to face multiple felony charges. Police identified them as Eloy Eleazar Jr., of San Antonio, and Jorge Martinez, of Corpus Christi.
