Dallas police says video shows suspect, car wanted in homicide on Great Trinity Forest Way
The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an April homicide in an alley near Great Trinity Forest Way.
Detectives continue to investigate the death of 49-year-old Jason Nalley on April 15.
When officers arrived, they found Nalley, who had been shot multiple times behind a grocery store in the 7900 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, in southeast Dallas, according to the investigation. He died at the scene.
Before Nalley was shot early in the morning, the suspect in the shooting was spotted as a passenger in a black Ford Mustang in video obtained by police.
The suspect is later seen in the video driving in a white Nissan Altima in the alley where Nalley was found.
The suspect got out of the Nissan, shot the victim, then drove away, police said.
“Our victim, Jason Nalley, who had fallen on tough times, was homeless, was staying in this area,” Dallas Police Detective Brewster Billings told KDFW-TV. (The victim) had been seen in this area several times and apparently there were people looking for him.”
Nalley was asleep against the door on a loading dock when the car with the shooter pulled up, KDFW reported.
Anyone with information on the suspect or suspect vehicles is asked to contact Detective Billings at 214-671-3584 or by email at brewster.billings@dallaspolice.gov.
Police described the Mustang as a convertible with a black rag top and two red racing stripes over the front fender.
“I think people who live in this area will recognize it and know who owns that vehicle,” Billings told KDFW. “Mr. Nalley didn’t deserve this. There’s a violent criminal out on the streets of Dallas who is capable of doing this again.”
