A woman was injured in an attack during an attempted robbery at a Fort Worth motel early Thursday morning, police said.

Police spokesperson Buddy Calzada said officers responded to a call around 6:40 a.m., which came from the Relax Inn at 8701 West Freeway. According to the initial police incident report, a 911 caller told the dispatcher a woman had been beaten up and possibly stabbed and was bleeding a lot.

Calzada said the officers found a woman with cuts on her upper body and arm, which she received during an attempted robbery.

The victim’s name hasn’t been made public. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

There was no suspect in custody as of Thursday morning, Calzada said, and robbery detectives were investigating.
