He tried to throw a woman off a bridge, police say. Now he’s charged with attempted murder

A complaint that began with a report of domestic violence escalated into an attempted murder arrest, according to Fort Worth police.

Cassius Jalon McLin, 26, is suspected of trying to throw a 26-year-old woman over a bridge railing at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday. The offense occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 West and East Seminary Drive, according to a police report.

McLin was being held in the Tarrant County jail on Tuesday. McLin is facing an attempted murder charge with bond set at $5,000.

The woman was unharmed, police said.

McLin has a string of misdemeanor arrests and convictions, which include theft, assault, marijuana possession and making a false report to a peace officer, with the oldest case dating back to April 2010, according to Tarrant County court records.

McLin faces a pending interference with public duties charge in Fort Worth and has a scheduled court date in January, court records show.
