2 men shot at location where child was shot a few days earlier

Gunfire at the same location where a 6-year-old girl was wounded during a drive-by shooting last week sent two men to the hospital Sunday night, CBSDFW.com reported.

Police did not comment on what led to the shootout at about 9 p.m. outside the TMA grocery store on South 2nd Avenue near Fair Park, according to the news site. No condition was available for the victims.

The Dallas police gang unit is looking into whether it might be gang-related, Fox4 News reported.

It’s the same location where a 6-year-old girl was shot in the chest in a drive-by Thursday. She is recovering from her wounds and is expected to survive, according to WFAA-TV.

It’s unclear whether Sunday’s shooting is connected to Thursday’s drive-by, but police say they believe the child and her father were in the line of fire rather than the targets, according to CBSDFW.com.

Neighbors told WFAA that a more visible police presence is needed in the area.
