Brock's Cara Tolar and Peaster's Riley Melton each pitched a gem in their matchup, but Tolar's shone a little brighter as the Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Greyhounds 4-0 in a District 11-3A contest.
Tolar surrendered two hits with 14 strikeouts and 2 walks in seven innings. Melton gave up three hits, struck out four, walked three, and only one of Brock's runs were earned.
"Well-pitched game by both pitchers. We had a good pitching game plan going in and Rylie executed it well," said Peaster coach Matt Chapman. "We had some trouble catching up to Tolar's speed, but still had a chance to win it late.
"Many times it comes down to who makes the fewest mistakes, and that was the case in this one."

ANDREWS HURLS NO-HITTER FOR LADYCATS
Elsewhere, Aledo's Hannah Andrews pitched a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Granbury. She struck out 10 and walked three.
"Hannah always hits her spots and that's what makes her so lethal on the mound," said Ladycats coach Heather Oakes.
As the second half of district play gets under way, the Ladycats (11-8, 5-2 in District 8-5A) are hoping to get on a roll that will take them to another district championship.
