Now starts a new streak.
After missing the playoffs for the first time in 14 years last season, the Aledo Bearcats are back in the postseason. They finished second in District 8-5A.
"We are super excited. This is what we play for, a chance to win it all," Aledo coach Derek Vierling said.
The Bearcats (14-6-2) will take on Fort Worth Arlington Heights (14-9), the third-place team from District 7-5A, Thursday at 8 p.m. at Brewer High School. The Yellowjackets, like the Bearcats, have a long history of reaching the postseason, but missed out last year.
