WC softball ranked No. 20 in the nation

The Weatherford College softball team is now ranked No. 20 in the nation according to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I poll released Wednesday.

The Coyotes (15-10) were not included in the preseason poll released January 27th, but an 11-2 run in February put the program on the pollsters’ radar.

Other Texas teams in the poll include Tyler (No. 2), Galveston (No. 6), McLennan (No. 13), Howard (No. 15) and Blinn (No. 18). Temple, ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, fell completely out of the Top 20 after starting the season with a 17-12 overall record.

WC is scheduled to host Ranger in a home doubleheader Saturday, March 12. The first game begins at 1 p.m. at Stuart Field.
