Weatherford College rodeo begins second half in Odessa

The second half of the season is now underway for the Weatherford College rodeo team. WC competed in the Odessa College Rodeo Feb. 25-27 at the Ector County Coliseum.

WC’s Seth Cooke put up the fastest tie down roping time of the event with a run of 9.1 in Saturday’s short go. He finished second place overall and now ranks in the Southwest Region’s top four.

Trinton Downing and Rody Ballard placed in both team roping rounds, winning fifth in the first round with a 7.8 second run, placing third in the finals and finishing third overall with 15.9 total.

Laramie Zant finished ninth in goat tying after a second place first round off a 7.1 run.

WC will travel to Brownwood next for the Ranger College Rodeo, March 17-19.
