The Weatherford Kangaroos played good defense through three quarters of their recent home game against Fort Worth Paschal.
In the fourth quarter they played GREAT defense.
The teams entered the final quarter tied at 38. The Kangaroos won 60-41 as they ended the game with a 22-3 run over the final eight minutes.
"We really just locked in defensively," said first-year Weatherford coach Charles Tatum. "Our rotations were faster and cleaner, and we rebounded the ball."
The Kangaroos (9-10, 1-2 in District 4-6A) split their two games last week, dropping an 84-48 contest at Arlington Martin.
Tony Banks led in scoring against Paschal with 16 points, while Kodie McClendon added 10. Lane Guest was the leading scorer against Martin with 15 points on five three-point baskets.

The Greyhounds (13-4, 3-0 in District 11-3A) kept pace with Parker County rival Brock in a tie for first place in district by posting a pair of blowout victories.
Parker Grudt combined for 51 points as the leading scorer in both games, 27 against Rio Vista and 24 againstKeene. Connor Turan scored 16 and 15, Draven Tell scored 14 against Rio Vista, and Books Pennington scored 10 against Keene.
Brock hosts Peaster Friday for an 8 p.m. tipoff.

The Eagles (15-8, 3-0 in District 11-3A) stayed tied for first place in district by avoiding an upset at Hillsboro and downing county rival Millsap (5-15, 1-2).
Nolan McCall was the top scorer in the win over Hillsboro and Matthew Thornton paced the win over Millsap with 19 points.
Tanyon Fulenwider scored a total of 34 points in the Bulldogs' two games, 20 against Keene and 14 against Brock. Triston Boling scored 13 against Keene and 11 against Brock, and Sean King added 11 against Brock.

The Monarchs (7-11, 1-2 in District 11-2A) got a combined 33 points from Landon Smith (18) and Coy O'Boyle (15) in a win over Era. Ruben Rodriguez (13) and Roy McCleery combined for 25 against Lindsay.

The Bearcats (5-13, 0-3 in District 8-5A) continue to struggle in league play. Cameron Caldwell scored 24 against Centennial and 20 against Everman. Dakota Fisher tossed in 13 against Everman.
