The North Texas High School Rodeo Association season came to an end recently with several Parker County competitors finishing at or near the top in their respective events at both the final rodeo and the season-long standings.
Weatherford's Brandon Strand won the bareback competition at the final rodeo. Also, Brock's Brody Yeary topped the saddle bronc competition.
Timothy Lankford of Weatherford was third in bareback.
Timber Lyon of Poolville posted three top-five finishes. She was second in walk-up goat tying, third in goat tying, and fifth in barrel racing.

Also from Poolville, Gracie Key was third in pole bending and eighth in barrel racing. She was third in the Rookie Cowgirl standings.
In team roping-header, Kole Parsons of Weatherford placed fourth.
As a team, Weatherford finished third in the final season-long standings, scoring 6,765 points. Decatur was first with 8,788, and North Hills was second with 7,719. Poolville was seventh with 4,274.
Weatherford had five of the top 10 season-long finishers in bareback. Joel Hull was second, Blake Walter third, Strand fourth, and Lankford fifth, while Timothy Chancellor was ninth.
Lyon finished second overall in breakaway roping, second in walk-up goat tying, second in ride-up goat tying, and seventh in barrel racing. She was third in the All-Around Cowgirl competition.
Yeary won the season-long bull riding standings and was second in saddle bronc.
The area also had four of the top six finishers in steer undecorating. Sydney Nesky of Weatherford was second, Samantha Hernandez of Peaster was third, Weatherford's Sarah Brown took fourth, and Mary Smith of Weatherford was sixth.

Walk-up goat tying: Hernandez, ninth.
Pole bending: Hernandez, fourth; Jamie Pytlik, Weatherford, seventh.
Bull riding: Garrett Jones, Aledo, fourth.
Rookie Cowgirl: Kalee Brown, Aledo, eighth.
All-Around Cowgirl: Hernandez, ninth.
All-Around Cowboy: Yeary, ninth.
