Jefferson-Polk career high leads Lady Roos to sixth straight win

To describe his standout player Anna Jefferson-Polk, Weatherford Lady Kangaroos head coach Darryn Shearmire referenced an iconic movie.

"She is like Neo in 'The Matrix,'" he said. "She's starting to believe she's 'The One.'"

And with good reason. Jefferson-Polk scored a career-high 30 points in Tuesday's 52-39 home victory against Azle.

It was the sixth consecutive win for the Lady Roos (7-3). Over the past four games Jefferson-Polk has scored 26, 28, 27 and 30 and is hitting 50 percent of her shots from the field, along with 45 percent from 3-point range.

Jefferson-Polk had some solid help. Gabbie Huggins scored nine points and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Kara Rothrock had nine points and seven steals.
