Criminal mischief has officials on the lookout

Over a recent weekend, numerous criminal mischief cases have been reported to the Weatherford Police Department. Late Friday night, Jan. 30, and early Saturday morning, Jan. 31, a myriad of victims found their vehicle windows shattered from what appeared to be a BB or Pellet Gun. Locally, the police department has received 25 reports regarding the identical but random damage. Most of the offenses occurred around the East and West Lake area, in addition to the Lake Hills housing addition.

Detectives have also learned that approximately two dozen similar cases have been reported to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office from around the Aledo area. The related cases appear to be the same type of offenses and also occurred around the same time period.

One of the victims in the Aledo area provided investigators with a possible description of two suspicious vehicles she saw in her neighborhood during that time:

1. Older dark colored truck or SUV that appeared to be around 15 years old

2. Silver colored car with at least 3 individuals inside.

The Weatherford Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance to help solve these cases. Parker County Crime Stopper’s is offering a reward of $2,500 for any information leading to the arrest or indictment of the suspect(s).
