“Local elections do not usually receive the same attention as those for state and federal elections but they are important,” Assistant City Manager Sharon Hayes said. “City government is the level closest to the people and provides services that directly impact citizens every day. Citizen involvement is important to making government work. Knowing about the issues, registering to vote and voting in all elections is the best way to become involved.”

Early voting for the general election will begin April 27 with Election Day being May 9. For more information about the general election, contact Malinda Nowell at 817-598-4202.
