Parker County Clerk Jeane Brunson and Vital Statistics Deputy Karol Slates, are proud to announce the Parker County Clerk’s Office was awarded the 2015 Exemplary 5-Star Award for outstanding service in the Vital Statistics Department.
This marks the fourth year Parker County has received the honor from the Texas Department of State Health Services for management of Vital Statistics. This is the 13th year Brunson’s office has received either the Exemplary or the Five Star prestigious award.
The Exemplary Award is given only to vital statistics registrars meeting extraordinarily high standards in work quality, timeliness and meeting all state requirements. Also considered is the delivery of exceptional service to their customers. Those eligible for these awards include most County Clerks, Hospitals, Funeral Homes, some cities and other entities providing vital statistic services.
Brunson said she is very proud of her employees as they are the reason her office is recognized for these exceptional standards.
"I am very proud of Karol, and the rest of my staff, and we are so excited to be the recipient of this great honor once again," Brunson said. "Without the wonderful ladies of my office giving 100 percent daily, receiving this prestigious award would not be possible."
To qualify for the Exemplary Award, Local Registrars like Brunson’s office must among other things, average no more than 15 days for all death registrations, including manual, drop to paper and fully electronic records from the date of the event to filing in the state office. In addition they must register at least 95 percent of birth records in the Record Acceptance Queue within one business day.
With 23 years under her belt as County Clerk, Brunson said technology has brought about many changes to her office.
"We are dedicated to keep up with the technology as best as we can so that we can provide the information and services to our constituents in a quick and transparent way," she said. "The amount of work necessary to meet the requirements of Texas law for each vital statistic document is substantial, but it is a challenge we embrace and again my staff has done a great job in meeting the high expectations we place on ourselves."
