Just before the new year began, Parker County’s newly-elected and re-elected officials took part in a public swearing-in ceremony in the County Court at Law No. 2 courtroom of the Parker County Courthouse on Dec. 31.
The courtroom was filled with admirers and family as County Attorney John Forest Jr. and Republican Party Chairwoman Zan Prince officiated over the event.
This year’s officials being sworn in were: Mark Riley, Parker County Judge; Jerry Buckner, County Court at Law No. 1 Judge; Curtis Jenkins, County Court at Law No. 2 Judge; Sharena Gilliland, District Clerk; Jeane Brunson, County Clerk; Jenny Barnwell, Treasurer; Craig Peacock, Precinct No. 2 Commissioner; Steve Dugan, Precinct No. 4 Commissioner; Wayne Hayes, Precinct No. 1 Justice of the Peace; Kelly Green, Precinct No. 2 Justice of the Peace; Dusty Vinson, Precinct No. 3 Justice of the Peave; and Lynn Marie Johnson, Precinct No. 4 Justice of the Peace.
All of the officials will be serving four-year terms that began Jan. 1.

Following the ceremony was a reception with refreshments provided by the Parker County Republican Party, the Parker County Republican Women and the Bush Legacy Republican Women of Weatherford. The public was invited to attend.
