The Economic Development Board of Directors, City of Weatherford and the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Schulman Theatres “Film Alley Weatherford” multi-venue center Tuesday, June 9.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. to celebrate the construction start of the 74,000 square foot movie - bowling - arcade entertainment facility that will be constructed on eight acres, located at the corner of Texas Drive and East Interstate 20 Frontage Road, east of the Weatherford Ridge Shopping Center. The event concludes at 12:30 p.m.
The “Film Alley Weatherford” multi-venue center is owned, operated and being developed by the third-generation Schulman family - Schulman Theatres - of Bryan. Morris Schulman is the managing partner. Once constructed, the family and corporate entertainment center will be home to eight dine-in, chef-inspired menu, theatre auditoriums with state-of-the-art projection and sound technology. The facility will also contain 24 bowling lanes that will feature plush seating and music videos with private lanes, sports bar and grille with billiards and live entertainment, a 4,000 square foot interactive arcade with redemption prizes and private facilities for birthday parties, youth parties and corporate outings.
The Schulman Theatres/City Lights Theatres currently owns and operates four other locations in Weatherford – City Lights Theatres, Bastrop, Georgetown and Palestine. “Film Alley Weatherford” will be the fifth location and second multi-venue center for the company.

A light lunch, celebration and virtual tour display will be held immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony. Access to the event will be from Washington Drive on the north side of the property.
