GoVision, an Argyle-based company that rents video screens used at major national events, said last week it has acquired the assets of its competitor, Transit Image in Weatherford, its third acquisition in the past year.

GoVision rents truck-mounted video screens and larger modular video walls. Transit Image also rents mobile, self-contained large format video screens. GoVision said it now has an inventory of 20 units, making it the largest mobile LED screen fleet in the U.S.

Transit Image’s employees, including its president, Tommy Joe Lucia, will join the GoVision team.

“This acquisition kind of brings me full circle as Transit Image was my first and only competitor when I started in the video screen rental business 25 years ago,” said Chris Curtis, founder and CEO of GoVision, in a statement. “Like us, they’re based in a small town in North Texas but they’re an important player in major events all around the country.”

Transit Image has a patented trailer design that allows its screens to be raised to 50 feet in the air, the highest in the industry, and rotate 360 degrees, GoVision said. The company has provided screens for such events as the Capitol 4th Celebration in Washington and the Boston Marathon.

In the past year, GoVision, founded in 2002, also acquired the assets of Los Angeles-based InnoVision Media Group and Portland-based Graystone Media, a provider of graphics, production services and live-event content for large video screens and event venues.

GoVision said it has provided broadcast and production support for presidential inaugurations, professional baseball and basketball games, the NCAA Final Fours, the 2012 Ryder Cup and U.S. Open Championships and the 100th Anniversary Scouting Jamboree. It is the screen provider of Dallas Cowboys Stadium Plaza, Texas Christian University and several college football programs and PGA tournaments.
