Diners at the Mesquite Pit Restaurant were startled Friday afternoon when a SUV came crashing through the front wall of the popular eatery located on the Ft. Worth Highway.
The incident occurred at 2:56 p.m. when the driver, Margaret McClendon, 81, mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal, according to Weatherford police. No one in the restaurant was injured.
McClendon suffered minor injuries but she was not transported to the hospital by emergency services. The car she was driving at the time of the incident was a Lincoln MKX.
