On January 6, Parker County Retired Teachers met at Central Christian Church Cuppett Hall for their first meeting of 2015. Chris Crawford, Commander of the Professional Standards Committee of the Weatherford Police Department, gave the group information and statistics about crime in the community. He credited the law enforcement community’s good working relationships with the City Council and citizens for keeping the crime rate low. He stated that theft and burglary make up 93 percent of the crimes committed. Responsible for the informative program were the Scrapbook and Awards Committees. Catering a lasagna lunch was PCRTA’s Roger Grizzard, owner of The Pizza Place.
PCRTA will be serving the community through two special projects. At the February meeting, members will be donating Valentine’s to be given to health care centers. The group will also conduct a food drive for the Senior Service Center during March and April.
