How to age with attitude is a universal question that will be tackled by Texas humorist Bonnie Rea, when she appears at Wine, Women and Words, an evening hosted by the Chandor Gardens Foundation Board at the gardens, at 6 p.m., Thurs., March 31.
There will be limited seating for the event, said Elizabeth Lawrence, foundation board president. Tickets are $40 and include wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, a garden tour and humor and life lessons given by Rea, one of Texas’ most sought after speakers.
“Let me put it this way. Bonnie Rea is one of the most fun speakers I’ve ever heard. She’s lively, funny and real,” said Dave Lieber, Dallas Morning News columnist.
Tickets are available online at www.chandorgardensfoundation.org, Eventbrite website, or at Chandor Gardens, 711 West Lee, Weatherford, Texas 76086, 817-613-1700.
Proceeds will be used to fund foundation projects to include preservation of the heritage of the gardens in alliance with the City of Weatherford and to develop the Chandor property in keeping with Douglas Chandor’s artistic vision.
Douglas Chandor is one of the great artists of the 20th Century. Five of his paintings are on display in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Additionally, the garden is on the National Register of Historic Places of the National Park Service.
