Seldom Seen Quilting Studio will host fabric artist and educator Rhonda Lawton for a make-and-take class on Monday, Jan. 18.
“I have two of Rhonda’s creative appliqué blocks on my design wall,” says studio owner Diana Buckley. “Every day I get a compliment on them. I am so excited to learn how she does it.”
Rhonda has been piecing quilts since 1984 and taught Science and Art for 15 years.
“So the art on paper flowed into a decision on my part, to see if I could make something happen using fabric,” she says. “That's what this class is all about, painting using fabric instead of oils or crayons. I know you will enjoy the process!”
The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Seldom Seen Quilting Studio inside My Father’s House Antiques Mall on South Rogers Street in downtown Waxahachie. (Participants should bring a sack lunch.)
“Rhonda is putting together project kits with all the materials you will need to make your own delightful landscape block,” Buckley said.
Registration is limited, so make your reservation early. Call 972-921-6715 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost of the class is $35, materials included.
