Meet Penny, a “lucky little girl.” She was found on the highway, with no collar or other identification, and picked up to keep her from harm. Area animal shelters were notified, but no owner was found. She was placed in foster care and, of course, fell in love. She's a small dog, only 25 pounds, and appears to be part heeler and part Golden Retriever. She's got soft silky fur and is probably just 7-8 months old. She’s been spayed, vaccinated, is heartworm negative, and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. She gets along well with the other dogs at her foster home. The adoption fee is only $75 and if you're interested in giving her a new home, please visit www.ParkerPaws.org to submit an adoption application.
Foster pets stay in volunteers' homes - or with Good Samaritans - until adopted and are treated like family. Contact Parker Paws at 817-694-5718 to learn more about available pets, both dogs and cats. Adoptable cats are available for adoption at the Weatherford PetSmart (in the shopping center south of I-20 at exit 408) and there are weekly adoption events each Saturday at the same PetSmart from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
