Watch Parker County sheriff’s deputy help rescue family from house fire
An unnamed Parker County sheriff's deputy was among several who helped firefighters and neighbors rescue a family from a burning house in Springtown early Thursday morning. Eight people were transported to area hospitals.
Record-rains have prompted grasses to grow across North Texas. In Willow Park, the grasses range from ankle high all the way up to the knee. There is plenty of fuel for fast-moving wildfire like the one that occurred on Jan. 22, 2018.
Wilson Adams, 11, who is battling back after having a brain tumor removed, was made an honorary reserve officer by the Weatherford, Texas police department. “This is what I want to be when I grow up," he said. "I like the idea of protecting people.”
"You really need to use just about all of your senses," said Garry Hutton, one of the owners of Hutton Peach Farm outside of Weatherford. "I guess you don't hearing but that comes in handy with a watermelon."
The Parker County Courthouse Square was stirring in May 2016 as folks came to bid farewell to a historic structure known at various times as the Eddleman Building, Sturgess Dress Shop, the Bowden Building and the Bradford Building.
