The Carroll boys soccer team wrapped up the regular season on a high note on Friday night with a victory over L.D. Bell, and coach Greg Oglesby said that based on the way his team has performed as of late, he is very confident heading into the postseason.

The Dragons will open up playoff competition against Midlothian at 8 p.m. on March 24 at Fort Worth Nolan High School, and Oglesby said he expects a good challenge, but added that he is confident his team can compete very well for however far the Dragons are able to make it into the postseason.

“If we continue to play the way we have the last three weeks, I like our chances,” Oglesby said.

The Dragons defeated Bell by a score of 4-1 on Friday night to wrap up the regular season a high note.

Carroll tied the Blue Raiders 3-3 on Feb. 16, but Oglesby said that his team looked much better this time around and made the most of the opportunities they were presented.

“The team played very well against Bell,” Oglesby said. “We created many chances to score and the defense was brilliant.”

Nat Kajiwara finished the Bell game with two goals, while Duncan Gary and Michael Parrish finished with a goal a piece to lead the way offensively against the Blue Raiders.

The Dragons have really picked things up as of late, and Oglesby said that he has been impressed with the effort his team has put forth.

“We are playing much better the last five games,” Oglesby said.
