Colleyville’s “Main Street” will soon have new residents.
The city has announced a variety of new stores, restaurants and developments that will open along Colleyville’s portion of Texas 26.
“We are realizing the fruits of labor over several years due to re-establishing ourselves as a retail, restaurant destination,” Economic Development Director Marty Wieder said. “I’m pleasantly pleased but not surprised we are seeing some other development now.”
Zoe’s Kitchen will occupy a new building in the Colleyville Downs development when it opens next year. Colleyville Downs is the recently renewed shopping district with Whole Foods on Texas 26 near Glade Road. The new building will be Colleyville’s first multitenant retail project since 2008.
Wieder said when he first joined the city in 2009, developers and retailer brokers said the city would not see new businesses until it filled in it’s existing spaces.
That has slowly been fulfilled over the years and was punctuated by Whole Foods and other businesses moving into a once almost-empty development.
“The presence of Whole Foods is a big play in our attractiveness,” he said.
Across from Colleyville Downs, developers plan to open Colleyville Stampede at 4712 Colleyville Blvd., a 12,847 square-foot retail building in a currently vacant lot. That development will house sub shop Jersey Mike’s, Colleyville Smiles dentistry and Teddy’s Bigger Burgers.
Tommy Crowell with Standridge Companies, the Colleyville Stampede developer, said the company bought the land on rumors that a Whole Foods or other major anchor would come to the city. The development hopes to allow the businesses to take over the space in mid 2015.
Luna Grill and Tea2Go will be housed in Town Center Colleyville, the development that includes Market Street and Studio Movie Grill.
Luna Grill, a fast casual Mediterranean restaurant, plans to open mid-2015 at 5505 Colleyville Blvd., Suite 100. Tea2Go, a store that will sell brewed-in-store tea as well as take home options, plans to come online early next year at 5611 Colleyville Blvd., Suite 340.
