Jonathan Fox has put his experience of growing up in Colleyville and Austin into his new album.
The Jonathan Fox Band releases the album “20Something Runaway” digitally on Nov. 4.
“It’s good driving music, good party music, good listening music,” Fox said. “There’s so much stuff pushed out on the radio that doesn’t seem to be focused on honesty and the real portrayal of what people are going through.”
Fox said he uses his Americana Blues Rock sound to express his search for identity after growing up in what he calls an ordinary suburban life and struggling to overcome a mold to have a certain type of job and make a certain amount of money.

Fox graduated from Colleyville-Heritage High School in 2008 and from the University of Texas two years ago. He said he’s spent the past two years writing songs for his album.
“I would take a lot of time for myself and think ‘what am I going through,’” he said. “If I have 12 songs in an album what do I want to say.”
Fox always has loved music, and knew he wanted to focus on it since he was 15. He said he has made it his priority for the past two years.
“As time goes on, I continue to get more interested as opposed to becoming disinterested,” he said.
His single “My Own Drum,” is available for streaming on Spotify and the album will be available digitally on iTunes, his website and Spotify.
Fox will be returning to the Metroplex in November to play a show Nov. 9 at The Rustic in Dallas.
