If construction bottlenecks weren’t enough for Tarrant County motorists, here’s something else that might add to their drive time.

Authorities on Sunday afternoon closed a Loop 820 service road because of a sinkhole in the middle of the road.

The sinkhole is on the westbound service road of the highway between Denton Highway and Haltom Road.

Police Chief Cody Phillips said Sunday he did not know when it would be repaired.

This comes as school starts Monday in the Birdville school district and nearby Fort Worth school district. Haltom High School, which is in the Birdville district, is not far from the sinkhole.
