Mansfield ISD Hall of Honor Inductees named
A new class of Hall of Honor inductees has been released by the Mansfield ISD Athletic Department. The event to honor the six individuals and one team will be held on Aug. 6
Those being honored in the class of 2016 include:

Rachel Smith, Mansfield, 2006, golf
Kestahn Moore, Summit, 2005, football, basketball, track
Jena Lind Pickett, Mansfield/Summit, 2005, girls soccer
Kelsie Edwards Raulston, Mansfield/Summit, 2003, girls basketball
Coach Misial Tsapos, Mansfield/Summit coach, 1990-2005
Mansfield High girls basketball state championship teams of 2000, 2001, 2002
Legacy, Summit runners come home from Austin with hardware
Summit and Legacy track and field athletes had a good showing at the Texas Relays in Austin last weekend.
Summit’s Ivy Walker took third in the 100m hurdles, turning in a 13.83. That time is just off her personal best of 13.81.
Medric Roberson from Summit also took home a third-place medal in the 110m hurdles in the boys Division II event.
Legacy’s Division II quartet in the boys 4x100m relay team finished third.
MISD sixth grade athletics survey available
All sixth-graders who intend to participate in seventh grade athletics next year are asked to fill out a brief online survey. Students attending Coble, Danny Jones, Howard, Jobe, Wester or Worley middle schools next year will be asked for basic contact information and their desired sports for the next academic year.

Summit, Legacy stay on track in district race
The Summit baseball team remained in first place in District 14-5A, while Legacy was a game behind.
Summit bounced Lancaster 15-5 on Friday and also picked up a 6-0 shutout of Timberview last week.
To stay close, Legacy beat Lake Ridge, 8-1, to bounce back from a loss to Waxahachie.
