Summit boys soccer advances with win over Samuel

The Summit boys soccer team defeated Dallas Samuel by a score of 2-1 last Thursday night in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

The Jaguars advanced to the area round of the postseason, where they will face Longview Pine Tree at 8 p.m. Friday in Forney.

Mansfield softball remains unbeaten with big win over SGP

The Mansfield softball team improved to 6-0 in district competition on Thursday night with a 17-0 victory over South Grand Prairie that only went four innings.

Natalie Jackson was the offensive player of the game for Mansfield, hitting two home runs and two doubles in the game, while teammate Haley Morse went yard twice as well.

Morgan Rios, Sarah Reinke, Kaitlin Richards, Payton Simpkins and Rasheda Townsend all doubled in the game for the Lady Tigers.

Mansfield played Cedar Hill on Tuesday after the press deadline and will travel to Midlothian at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Timberview softball hammers Lancaster

The Timberview softball team cruised on Thursday night, defeating Lancaster by a score of 15-0 in a game that lasted just three innings.

The Lady Wolves were led offensively by Chelsea Luddeke, who hit a home run and a double.

Mayriah Brown also doubled twice in the game, and Katelynn Timmerman homered for the Lady Wolves.

Mariah Denson allowed just one hit in the game for Timberview and hit a double of her own.

Timberview played Arlington Seguin on Tuesday night after press time and will travel to Lake Ridge at 7 p.m. on April 5 in its next game.

Legacy baseball defeats Seguin with solid effort

The Legacy baseball team beat Seguin on Thursday night by a score of 5-1 in a game that the Broncos scored in each of the first five innings of the game.

Joey Strickland, John Stricklin and Damian Munoz all doubled in the game for Legacy.

Legacy played Waxahachie on Tuesday after press time and will host Lake Ridge at 7 p.m. Friday.
