Timberview girls, coach dominate All-District selections
As they did during the season, the Timberview girls basketball team dominated the postseason honor roll.
Named to the District 14-5A All-District team were superlative selections, including Timberview’s Chennedy Carter as District MVP, Trelynn Tyler as Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Kit Martin as Coach of the Year.
Legacy’s Grace Daniels was named Offensive Player of the Year.

First team selections are: Lake Ridge – Kennedy Burks, Kylie Collins; Summit – Celsi Caraway, Keona Watson; Timberview – Allyson Hinds, Hailee Walls, Lauryn Thompson.
Second team selections are: Lake Ridge – Candria Carter; Legacy – Channa Parvin, Bethany Ross; Summit – Khadijah Kelly, Christina Baker, Omia Bell.
Lake Ridge track and field takes Skyline Classic titles
The Lake Ridge boys and girls track and field teams brought home team titles at last weekend’s Skyline Track Classic.
In addition, on the girls side, the Lady Eagles’ Ariel Ford in the 400m, Celestine Annan in the 300m hurdles and Jasmine Moore in the long jump and triple jump all set new school records.
Ford’s time in the 400m was good for second place overall at Skyline. Annan’s times in the 300m and the 100m hurdles placed her second in both events. The 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m relays all collected second place for the Lake Ridge girls.
Other standout performances for Lake Ridge included Patrick Johnson’s third-place finishes in both the 110m and 300m hurdles, boys 4x200m and 4x400m relay third-place finishes, a first- and second-place finish in the discus by Thomas Patterson and Anthony Narro, respectively, and the same 1-2 finish in the high jump by Eagles Austin Ondijo and Iyanu Adeyeye. It was 1-2-3 in the long jump with Jimmy Enobabor, Collin Butler and T.J. Graham. Enobabor was also the champion in the triple jump.
Another top finish for the Lady Eagles was in the 100m, with Kelly Rowe, Moore and Hillary Givens taking 2-4 places.
Taylor Hayes picked up second place in the 800m and took third in the 1600m for Lake Ridge.
Lake Ridge girls golfer Caity Lindell finished as the second-place individual at the Lady Pirate Classic in Granbury. Lindell shot a 72-79. As a team, the Lady Eagles finished sixth overall, but was the lowest-scoring 5A team in the field with a 692. Taylor Dickhaut, Kayleigh Mints, Erica Bolden and Avery Gonzales also were members of the Lady Eagles team. Dickhaut’s 88-85 was a personal best, said head coach Jennifer Faulkner.
“We’ve have done well this season,” Faulkner said, noting the team had finished second in the regional preview meet in Rockwall.
Also at the Lady Pirate Classic, Mansfield shot a 688, while Summit turned in a two-day total of 726.
Timberview baseball notched a runner-up finish at the Irving ISD Invitational on Saturday. They lost to Irving in the tourney finals.
Summit tracksters Alex Stewart-Johnson and Elizabeth Adeoye both took first place in the 300 hurdles over the weekend.
Lake Ridge softball pulled out an exciting 11-10 win over Summit on Friday. The Lady Eagles had a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the victory.
Mansfield ice hockey’s finish was 10-8-2 with their final regular season win being a 3-2 OT win against Keller. Keller went on to win the City Championship as the playoffs concluded last week.
