Mansfield players earn district honors
The Mansfield baseball team was well-represented on the 8-6A all-district squad this season, with multiple players receiving honors.
Austin Tidwell was named the district's Defensive MVP, while second baseman Colton Whitehouse, outfielder Aaron Funk, pitchers Tyler Stacy and Nathan Woods and player Justin Visitacion all earned first-team honors.
Designated hitter Dillon Eaton and outfielder Braxton Chatman both received second-team honors.

MISD schools dominate 14-5A All-District Team
Numerous MISD players were selected to the 14-5A all-district baseball team, including several who received superlative awards.
Legacy Coach David Walden was selected as Coach of the Year for the district, while Dalton Dunn was named Defensive MVP and Kade Strowd was selected as the overall MVP of the district.
Timberview's Micah Walker was named Newcomer of the Year.
Legacy's Sheldon Paramore, Cody Taylor and Brock Mudie were all named to the first team, as were Timberview players Zeke Kuyawa and Kegan Edwards and Lake Ridge's Parker Schkade.
Legacy's Aaron Johns, Grant Moore, Chad Watkins and Daniel Drzycimski all earned second-team honors, as did Timberview's Jerricho Carlson and Dallas Rosalez, Lake Ridge's Logan Smith and Alex Roth, and Summit's Jared Reeves.
Two Mansfield softball players selected to All-State Team
The Mansfield school district recently had two players named to the TGCA All-State softball team for the 2014-2015 school year.
Lake Ridge's Brittany Jackson and Legacy's Reagan Wright both received the honors this season.
Wright hit .515 this season with eight RBI and 13 stolen bases.
Jackson hit .474 with 12 stolen bases.
