The suspects who shot three women at a Veritex Bank location are still at large after Fort Worth Police SWAT officers searched a home on Blackmore Ave. in Fort Worth. Fort Worth PIO Sgt. Chris Britt met with the media after the search.
Police in Grand Prairie reported that 21-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound just after midnight on Thursday. Security video from a nearby business showed a male running west bound on Sara Jane Parkway after the shooting.
Police responded shortly after 9am to a report of a robbery with shots fired at Veritex Bank on Merrick Street near Camp Bowie Blvd. Three women were shot during the holdup. Witnesses reported seeing two suspects in hoodies fleeing on foot.
A 12-year-old girl is in the hospital awaiting a new heart to repair the damage done to her heart during a brutal attack she endured while walking to a school bus. Her father said she is walking now, but remains in serious condition.
The last stretch of toll lanes on Interstate 35W opens Thursday connecting Alliance Airport area with downtown Fort Worth. Motorists wanting less congestion can pay for time saved. Connectors into downtown will be finished by the end of the year.
