Mansfield Opinion

Superintendent recognizes school board

Our school board members volunteer their time and energy to ensure all 33,900 students who attend the Mansfield ISD are able to receive the best education possible.

Board members are elected by the voters who live in the MISD and serve three-year terms as the eyes and ears of our taxpayers. Their primary responsibilities are to set policy, adopt and monitor the budget, and hire and evaluate the superintendent. But most importantly, our board members advocate for our students, and every decision they make is based on the foundation of what is best for our students.

Every January, we take time out to say ‘thank you’ to these dedicated volunteers for School Board Recognition Month. It is a designated time for Texas school districts to show their appreciation to their trustees, and we as a district are always appreciative of their tireless efforts.

On behalf of Mansfield ISD, I want to express how fortunate we are to have such wonderful people serve our district as board members. It is a privilege to be able to work with them. They are the true superheroes of our district, and they make the MISD a great place to live, to learn and to teach.
