An attic fire has displaced a Mansfield family.
The blaze inside the home at 1502 Fern Drive, which started at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday, was “contained to the attic space and garage, but the rest of the house had smoke damage,” said Fire Marshal Clay Cawood.
“The house is probably destroyed,” Cawood said. “I don’t think there’s anything suspicious, but it’s still under investigation.”
Firefighters contacted the Red Cross, but Cawood believed the family sought was staying with friends.
