August 19 Musical fund-raiser

Hear Shake Anderson, Taylor Pace and Jimmy Lee from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at Mellow Mushroom, 101 S. Main St. $10 donation at the door will be donated to the Mansfield school district to help with school supplies.

August 20 Farmers market

The Mansfield Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m.-noon at 206 Smith St. Farm fresh eggs, produce, homebaked breads, crafts, baked goods, live music by Steve Cosio. Free admission. mansfieldtxfarmersmarket.com

Dance music

August 21 School re-dedication

The new Glenn Harmon Elementary will be re-dedicated at 2 p.m. at 5700 Petra Drive. Students, staff and families are invited to attend.

August 22 City council meeting

The Mansfield City Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. Meetings are open to the public. The meetings are also broadcast on Charter Communications channel 27. For more information, call 817-276-4200.

School starts

Classes begin in the Mansfield school district.

August 23 School board

The Mansfield school board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. The meeting is open to the public.

August 24 Live music

Hear Mansfield’s favorite duo Scott & Steve at 7 p.m. at El Primo’s, 2300 Matlock Road.

August 26 Live music

Check out ZZ Top tribute band Trio Grande from 7-10 p.m. at Mellow Mushroom, 101 S. Main St. Reservations suggested.

Ride for Kyle

A chili cook off with a ride from Red’s Roadhouse to the Ronald McDonald house to drop off donations is set from noon-4 p.m. as a fund-raiser for muscular dystrophy. Entry fee will be $15 and it will include a plate of food. Cost is $50 to enter as a chili cook and $50 for a vendor spot; limited to 10 chili cooks and only a few vendor spots. September 5 Labor Day

School closed

All Mansfield district schools will be closed.
