College Honors

University of Oklahoma

Students from 48 states and Washington, D.C., are among candidates for degrees this spring on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus. Mansfield graduates include Kelsey LeeAnn Russell, Bachelor of Business; Jonathan C. Rutledge, Doctor of Philosophy; Linsey Erin Underwood, Bachelor of Arts; Kelsey N. Watson, Bachelor of Arts; and Ashlan M. Wiley, Bachelor of Business.

Midwestern State University

Midwestern State University recognized 1,046 honor students for the Spring 2016 semester. The President's Honor Roll included 353 students, the Provost's Honor Roll included 302 students and the Dean's Honor Roll included 391 students.

A student who completes a semester schedule of at least 12 hours in one semester with no grade lower than A (4.0) will be included on the President's Honor Roll. The student cannot have semester grades of I, WF or NC. A student who completes a semester schedule of at least 12 semester hours in one semester with a grade point average of 3.75 to 3.99 and no grade lower than C will be included on the Provost's Honor Roll. The student cannot have semester grades of I, WF or NC. A student who completes a semester schedule of at least 12 semester hours in one semester with a grade point average of 3.50 to 3.74 and no grade lower than C will be included on the Dean's Honor Roll. The student cannot have semester grades of I, WF or NC.

Bethany College

On May 15, Bethany College honored 115 students who earned Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Music Education from the college during the 2015-2016 academic year. Summer, fall, interterm and spring graduates were honored during baccalaureate worship and commencement ceremonies on campus. More than 150 Bethany College students have earned semester honors for their academic performance during the spring 2016 semester and have been named to the Dean's List.

To qualify for the list, students must be enrolled full-time and earn a semester grade point average of 3.5.

Trevor L. Kistler of Mansfield graduated with a degree in athletic training and was named to the Dean’s List.

Baylor University

Baylor University conferred degrees on more than 2,500 graduates during spring commencement exercises May 13-14 in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus. Baylor University is a private Christian university and a nationally ranked liberal arts and research institution.

University of North Texas

University of the South

Alex Bilal Ali Long of Mansfield was awarded a bachelor of arts in politics, magna cum laude, at the University of the South’s 2016 commencement ceremonies held in All Saints Chapel on the Sewanee campus on May 8. Alex Bilal Ali Long is the child of Alex Bhatti of Mansfield.

Dallas Baptist University

Julio Alberto Calderon, a Mansfield native, graduated with a Master of Arts in Sport Management from Dallas Baptist University during spring commencement.

William Dustin Gryder, a Mansfield native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast communications with a minor in music business from Dallas Baptist University during spring commencement. During his time at DBU, William was a member of Lambda Pi Eta honor society and the DBU Grand Chorus.

They were among the 646 graduates receiving associate, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees from DBU.

Austin College

Austin College’s Dean’s List has been announced for Spring Term 2016.The Dean’s List recognizes the top 20 percent of students taking a minimum of three graded, full-credit courses. For Spring Term 2016, the Dean’s List recognizes 294 individuals. Mansfield residents making the Dean’s List include Matthew Donovan, son of James and Brenda Donovan; graduate of Frontier High School; and Tristan Ortiz, son of Pamela Ortiz; graduate of The Oakridge School.

More than 3, 400 Baylor University students were named to the Dean's Academic Honor Roll for the 2016 spring semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. A private Christian university and a nationally ranked liberal arts institution, Baylor is classified as a research university. This blends with Baylor's international reputation for educational excellence built upon the faculty's commitment to teaching, scholarship and interdisciplinary research to produce outstanding graduates.

Oklahoma Baptist University

Mansfield resident Amanda Moore received a bachelor’s degree during Oklahoma Baptist University’s 102nd Spring Commencement on May 13 in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium on the OBU campus in Shawnee, Okla.

Moore earned her degree in anthropology. She graduated cum laude for maintaining at least a 3.40 grade point average.

Stephen F. Austin State University

Mansfield students named to the President's List at Stephen F.
