Christian Nicholas of Troop 2014 in Mansfield was honored for achieving the rank of Eagle on Jan. 9 at Arlington Presbyterian Church. To earn this rank, Christian has completed 39 merit badges, served in six different leadership positions and performed several hours of community service within the past seven years. For his final project, he created an enclosed toddler playground for Arlington Presbyterian Church.
After he graduates, the 17-year-old home-schooled student plans to enter the armed forces and pursue a career in automotive mechanics. As a member of Venture Crew 591, he will continue the Scouting program and is looking forward to giving back to the program as an assistant scoutmaster within Troop 2014, which is chartered out of East Broad Outreach Community in Mansfield.
