Green

Marine Corps Private First Class Leon Green IV graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Training on October 3, 2014 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.

Green completed a rigorous, thirteen-week program that is one of the world's most demanding entry-level military training in order to be transformed from civilian to Marine instilled with pride, discipline and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Green's training subjects included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M16-A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies.

Green also endured the Crucible, a 54-hour final test of his mind and body. Upon completion, Green was presented with his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and earned the honor to be called a United States Marine.

Marines who complete recruit training also earn eight college credits towards a degree.

Green is the son of Tim and Carmela Wells of Mansfield. He is a 2014 graduate of Frontier High School.

Manning

Marine Corps Private First Class William F. Manning Jr. graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Training on October 3, 2014 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.

Manning completed a rigorous, thirteen-week program that is one of the world's most demanding entry-level military training in order to be transformed from civilian to Marine instilled with pride, discipline and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Manning's training subjects included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M16-A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies.

Manning also endured the Crucible, a 54-hour final test of his mind and body. Upon completion, Manning was presented with his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and earned the honor to be called a United States Marine. In addition he also distinguished himself as company high shooter with 340 out of 350. Marines who complete recruit training also earn eight college credits towards a degree.

Manning is the son of Bill and Heather Manning of Mansfield. He is a 2012 graduate of Legacy High School.

Freeman

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Ge'ton Freeman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Freeman is the daughter of Gerald Stith of Riverdale, Ga. and Toni Meekey of Chicago, Ill., niece of Philip Rollins of Riverdale, Ga. and daughter-in-law of Denise Freeman of Tignall, Ga.

She is a 2008 graduate of Timberview High School.
