The Mansfield school district set a new record Wednesday night, rounding up 31,000 toys and $7,350 for Toys for Tots, snapping its previous record of 30,000 toys.
“It could not have gone better,” said Jeanne Cassidy, sales and marketing coordinator at the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts.
The school district’s fifth annual event had the biggest crowd yet, Cassidy said. Police estimated that 7,000 to 8,000 people attended during the event.
