St. Jude plans Denim & Diamonds Casino Night

St. Jude Catholic Church is planning the third annual Denim & Diamonds Casino Night at Classic Oaks Ranch at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Tickets are $40 and available at the church, 500 E. Dallas St.

Everyone welcome to sewing ministry

Walnut Ridge Baptist Church’s Threads & Needles Ministry meets each Wednesday from 12:15-2 p.m. in room 253. Ladies come together each week to complete needle work and sewing projects. Recently 60 handmade blankets were donated to the Mansfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and another 40 were donated to the Arlington Life Shelter. First Methodist offers grief support class

First Methodist Mansfield will offer Journey Through Grief at 6:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 23. This is a grief support class that helps those grieving to understand and integrate loss into their lives. Led by trained facilitators who have experienced loss in their own lives, the class meets for six consecutive Mondays. This free class is open to the whole community. Missionary visits Mansfield Bible Church

February is Missions Month at Mansfield Bible Church. MBC sponsors seven missionary families around the world and is excited to have Ranjit David from India bring a powerful message Feb. 15. Ranjit is a native of India where he serves as a missionary pastor with his wife, Deepa.

St. John Lutheran hosts teen expert

St. John Lutheran Church is hosting a nationally known speaker and author and expert on teen culture, Chap Clark, who will be conducting three programs the weekend of Feb. 20-21.

From noon-3 p.m. Feb. 20 will be Inside the World of Today’s Teenagers, a professional program with educators, counselors, social workers and others who work with teens. Free.

From 7-10 p.m., Feb. 20 will be Finding Your Voice, a teen program with a message from Chap Clark and food, fun and games. Free, but registration and a permission slip required. Parents welcome.

From 9-11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 will be Parenteen Seminar aimed at parents and others who work with teenagers. Cost is $10 for one, $15 for two. Breakfast included.
