Church collects for Operation Christmas Child

Mansfield Bible Church is participating in the mission to deliver shoe box gifts to children around the world by serving as a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child. Individuals and groups can deliver shoe box gifts to MBC from Nov. 18-25.

St. Jude plans monthly Bingo

St. Jude Catholic Church will now offer Bingo every month instead of every other month. Bingo packets are $25 to play 14 games. Cover all guarantee payout is $300.

The hall opens at 6 p.m. with first call at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The final Bingo Night for the year will be Dec. 14 at the St. Jude Parish Hall on the corner of Graves and Dallas streets.

Bisbee Baptist welcomes guest speaker

Come to Bisbee Baptist Church at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 15 to hear Terry Caffey’s amazing story of tragedy, heartbreak, forgiveness and hope. In 2008, intruders broke into Caffey’s home, shooting him several times, killing his wife and two sons and setting his house on fire. While he was receiving medical treatment, he heard that his teen-age daughter had been arrested for planning the murders. First Baptist holds Upward Basketball

Registration for Upward Basketball at FBC Mansfield is now open. You can register online or stop by the church office at 1800 E. Broad St. The cost is $105. Deadline for registration is Dec. 12.

Basketball shorts are included at no additional cost. Everyone must attend one basketball evaluation. Evaluations will take place at the FBC Gym for kindergarten through sixth grade for boys and girls from 5-6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 or from 5-6:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Practices will begin the week of Jan. 6. The first game will be Jan. 25.

FUMC plans Remembrance Service

Join First Methodist Mansfield at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 in the chapel for the annual Remembrance Service, a time for the community to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed. You may also place an ornament in memory of a loved one on the Remembrance Tree outside the Main Building Chapel and bring photos of loved ones to display at the service. There will be an opportunity during the service to light a candle in memory of a loved one.
