First Methodist celebrates Independence Day
Join First Methodist Mansfield for a special day of worship on Independence Sunday, July 5. There will be worship services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary. Both services will feature patriotic music from the Chancel Choir, orchestra and the DFW Brass. Make plans to join us as we celebrate God and country. St. Gregory’s hosts organ recital
St. Gregory invites the Mansfield community to an organ recital given by Joshua Lang at 7 p.m. June 17. The organ recital will be held at St. Gregory, 1091 Country Club Drive. Joshua is currently a graduate student at Texas Christian University, where he studies a Masters of Organ Performance with Dr. Joseph Butler. Joshua graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in music theory with Dr. Linton Powell.

Joshua serves as the organist and choirmaster of St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists and teaches organ and keyboard privately at St. Gregory.
The June 17 Organ Recital will be a varied evening of musical styles, displaying all of the colors of the organ. Joshua will play music from the French Baroque, German Baroque, French Romantic and 20th Century American styles. The community is invited to an evening full of a rich repertoire of music.
St. John hosts Everest VBS
St. John Lutheran Church will host Everest VBS from 9 a.m.-noon June 22-26. At Everest, kids discover what it means to hold on to God’s mighty power in everyday life. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through God Sightings. Each day concludes with a Summit Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.
Kids at Everest VBS will join an international missions effort to provide relief for the people of Nepal around Mount Everest.
