A boy is expected to make a full recovery after a vehicle ran over him as he left Cora Spencer Elementary School on Monday.
The 7-year-old Mansfield school district student was run over by a driver making a turn at the intersection of South Camino Lagos and Meseta in Grand Prairie after school at 3:37 p.m. Monday.
The boy was flown by ambulance to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in serious condition, according to the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Police say the child was crossing the street with his mother when a vehicle turning at the intersection did not see them and ran over the student.
Grand Prairie police said the incident occurred in a school zone, but speed was not a factor in the accident.
No one else was injured and police are investigating.
